nail~gasm

slowly but surely nail art is becoming one of the coolest ways to show off a flare of your own style. with so many new a exciting way to accessorize your nails there are a few big names coming out of this awesome movement. here in london its all about wah nails. with a few salons and a team up with topshop the girls at wah and founder Sharmadean Reid have been turning some big heads and even went and made an awesome book. i'm going to try and save up some pennies so just before i leave london i can get my self some wicked nails to show off back home.
just a few styles they have at wah

wah's famous leopard and fade nails

the new bible

i had to get my hands onto the book as i try and dabble a little bit in the art form but i'm defs a novice. there are so many polish that i left at home that are patiently waiting for my return. here are some of my own attempts that i've captured on camera.
 the crack

 the stickers
 all of the colours

another name that's pushing the limits and proving if you can think of it, it can go on your nails is the japanese salon of disco nails. these are my favorite coz the detail that they get on the nails is amazing and if i ever find myself in shibuya i'm heading straight there for a mani!

heres a quick clip
enjoy and get painting!

and now for some really cool nail art courtesy of the internet

rewind to the 80's

 booze and good tunes!
wellies work, check
 so lush!
so i worked my very first hospitality job the other last weekend, a crazy 80's festival in perth scotland. got up thursday and seeing we didn't have to work till the next day after our training we went and had some fun on the rides whilst getting to know every one a bit better by consuming alcohol. work was really easy and super fun. lucky us 3 girls were together in the cocktail tent. we ran a little bit of a muck and had a complete ball! it was a great crowd of oldies rocking out like they used too, from funny costumes to ordering 24 beers. the scottish accent was hard to follow and i found my self thinking numerous of times "was that english?" yet the banter with the customers was what kept me going through the 14 hour days, it defiantly wasn't the music as in our tent. we had a cover band that played the same set list both nights and also turned into karaoke at 10pm. it was a great weekend and a nice intro to the people i might be working with over the next couple of months.

a good old fashioned street party

i'm holding my amazing pulled pork sanga
 bunting!
the lemonade was of the chain
jamie's instagram photo aka he was there!
every one knows that i love jamie oliver and he is my number one person is the world that i would love to meet. so when i found out that there was a street party for the 10 year anniversary of his restaurant fifteen, i was there, and so was amber and millie! it was just a small little street party with amazing food stalls and some pretty epic drinks and good music blaring. our rum and lemonade was unexpectedly impressive as i'm not much of a homemade lemonade fan. we were spoiled for choice when it came to the food but i decided on a pulled pork roll from the barbecoa (jamie and adam perry lang's bbq restaurant) stall. not a wise choice as i was wearing a white shirt so i looked like a complete idiot when i was eating it, trying so hard not to get any one me. i failed. i was just happy to be in the same vicinity as the great jamie o and think i would have squealed if i had seen him!! after checking out the menu i defs want to go back and have a proper meal at fifteen.

50/50

yes, i read it. i thought i'd better give it a try and see what the hype was all about. the thing is i'm in two minds, i liked it but then also didn't like it. take it on its face value, that it's  E L James' fan fiction of twilight, then i get it and that's kinda what i didn't like about it. it was too much bella and edwards characters in the real world, where we're human and act on our animal urges to rip each others clothes off, oh a throw in some bdms to spice it up a little. so this is a total contradiction to that last comment but i liked it because it was that story of twilight, a man that has everything from money to looks, that always has control, who falls head over heels for the girl that usually goes unnoticed and totally shakes up his/her world. well i couldn't put it down and caught myself day dreaming about mr. christian grey every now and then. i must admit i did get sick of the repetition of phrases, and the writing was a bit poor, but i needed to know what was going to happen next even though it was fairly predictable.

with the book being such a big success, of course they are going to make a movie. so the big question is now who is going to get the role of mr. grey and also miss steele. here are my suggestions:

alexander skarsgÄrd was obviously was born for the role of mr grey. if he doesn't get the role, the actor who does play him is second best. and second best in my eyes is mr. henry cavil, the new superman. both look mouthwatering good in suits and have those amazing grey/blue eyes. my fingers are crossed for alex, and to seeing him domineer the role.

anastasia steele for me is a little harder, but i think either amanda seyfried or jennifer lawrence would do an excellent job as they are doing so well with their careers and have that certain goofiness and awkwardness that ana has. the rumor mill has come up with some crazy, way too young, not that great of an actress, but neither of these two has come on the radar. i think it would be unfair to put kristen stewart in there as she's already bella, but i know she would nail it coz it is bella.

so yes hollywood producers those are your options, choose wisely!

reality england

 the originals
TOWIE
MTVs very own lads and lasses
geordie shore
 the rich and beautiful
made in chelsea

i am a total sucker for reality tv and i love the brits. i first got hooked on the only way is essex (TOWIE) back home, doin my homework for when i came over here. learning that you greet people with a simple 'alright?' and what a vajazzel was. then moved on to the english version of the hills with made in chelsea, where its about 20 somethings that are mega loaded, beautiful and sleep with each other. very entertaining! and finally i've got onto the brits jersey shore aka geordie shore. same premise as the original mtv jersey, 4 lads that are hornier than a rhinos face and 4 lasses that are fake tan, lashes and nails. in my defense i need to watch these so that i fit in and don't look like a right mug.
